Yes Europe is not a good place for free speech in comparison to the US but in comparison to China or Russia or India, Europe is still far better than those countries when it comes to free speech and privacy.

I would rank Europe as the second best continent in the World for free speech after the US. It is bad but not as bad as many other places, we are still lucky. But you never see complaints about, why is the second World economy China not giving humanitarian help to Africa? Why is Russia making deals with dictators? Why is India not standing for human rights in Iran? You just see where is the US and Europe for this or that as if we owned them something and many of those self-entitled people are then ungrateful and even hateful to the point of supporting China and Russia so go to them to ask for help then.
