I remain cautiously optimistic, but I think we still have a long way to go before anyone will be able to admit their feelings openly without experiencing the full brunt of society's condemnation. Even if their reputation stands for itself. Maybe you're right, and I'm being overly sensitive to the perceived dangers. But my fantasy is one of safety and acceptance, and the waters are still teeming with sharks. How can young people grow up knowing the truth if it's still too dangerous to give it to them?
