No, I watched that film many, many times. My rack was just astern of the 1 wire, precicely underneath where the first detonation occurred. And, no, there was no evidence of anything.

I was East Coast but I had heard lots of stories about P.I. Everybody wanted to go there because of those stories. I was very tempted to sail there when I bought my first sailboat. Not for Olongapo but for places which were more conducive to offering visits with people I would be interested in. My agreement with myself prevented me from leaving Canada.

God, I have tons of stories about standing watches. But, on the carrier, we never stood a watch: we were way too busy for that. I did a year tour in Iceland where things were much slower so, yeah, I stood watches often.
