Elle Fanning then and now

I've had this kind of funny experience of really adoring the young Elle Fanning, for instance in "Phoebe in Wonderland". Now as an adult I guess she does lots of things but I watched a bit of "The Great" and hated it. To me it feels raunchy. Crude humor, not quite slapstick but close. And there's Elle, starring in it. Of course it's not the adorable small Elle. Who she was as a child doesn't get changed by what she does as an adult.

I've thought one of the advantages to having an attraction that's mostly limited to pictures (I'm talking innocent and unquestionably legal here) is that you don't have to watch them grow up. They're always the same age in the pictures. So I guess if I had made a point of avoiding everything she does as an adult I wouldn't have this problem. But that series is not just "now she's a grown-up" but "now she has a role with raunchy, crude sex everywhere".

Some folks will recall I used to run Virtuous Pedophiles. I was very glad to retire from that a year ago after nearly 12 years, though I still hang around as an ordinary member. My views on the basic issues haven't changed, but I'm weary of talking about all that stuff.
