Do NOT admit to illegal activity which was not already prosecuted in a court of law, nor claim to have personal knowlege of the same regarding someone else. This is not tolerated here, as it is a threat to the website itself. We're very sensitive to this one. Please don't test it.

Be extremely careful agreeing to get to know anyone away from the chat in private, such as email or a chat messenger, etc. There is a history at these websites of seemingly friendly individuals who turn out not to be, and only after someone has revealed their identifying information to them do they realize what has happened. Your email address alone can be enough to get you outed if you use it for anything else, and *this has happened here before* so beware.

Those who moderate the chat try to keep things safe, but your own safety will always depend on you. The more you look out for yourself, the less we need to enforce things.
