Did you know that Wole Soyinka, a Nobel laureate in Literature, inadvertently gave the initial impetus for the so-called Nigerian mafia (or WACN, West African Criminal Networks)? In his university years he founded a fraternity with some other students; that fraternity was later hijacked and turned into a cult of hardened criminals. Wole Soyinka himself was not responsible for this development.
