...your heart, you learn to take things seriously. It's a slight problem so far, but it was a wake-up call to me. It does not immediately kill you, but it can lead to the chronic inability of the heart to pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body -- it has a name in English too, but I am not sure of the correct term.
The doctor told that there is a murmur in my heart, a swishing/whishing sound, and said that the reason is a calcified heart valve that in turn is caused by LDL cholesterol that in turn is caused by saturated fat. I have not eaten extremely unhealthily in the past and I have cholesterol medication, but it is not enough. So I immediately abandoned coffee buns and everything that contains red meat. Only fish and chicken and maybe turkey. And vegetables and oat bread with Benecol margarine. |
