Beautiful old 60's song.
Knowing what everyone seems to know now, it's far more telling in its lyrics, but also in the briefly telling expressions on their faces at that current time. Of course, the lyrics source from that guy in the hat. That becomes its own rabbit hole later. I've no idea about any of that, and in the end, it doesn't really matter. Me? I just related to the song's adoration of girls, and the narrator's final daring to say hello to them. The clock had told him it was high-time, after all. I was also very enamoured with the formerly underaged present blonde of the group, who existed long before I ever discovered their beautiful harmonies, many years after their peak. This gorgeous-gal, the last surviving member, is now 80. No idea what she was like in her youth, but in this video she touches her head with slight worry, like she knows something about the lyric creator that nobody else knows. She's been quite the class act for decades since. Any hint of immaturity I glimpse of her in that former fame is a complete and absolute treasure. She deserves a high level of loving warmth today. The stories within her alone which might one day die with her. She is a treasure. Though they might never acknowlege it, she was an important individual to the creation she was part of, and as well, for many others she would never even encounter. I admire this song. It had a real effect on me. I might understand why now. But I can't be sure. https://yewtu.be/watch?v=RWb7F1mxljE |
