It would seem anywhere free speech gets a go-ahead on any large scale, forces get employed to subversively destroy it. It has always been the case online. The only real question is, what purpose did/does it serve? Because there are not actually THAT many unfiltered pervs and determined misanthropic malcontents on the internet. You (or, I, specifically) always got the feeling those comments had a generic sort of turnoff to them. My only question was always, is the source some individual with an army, a political group with an army, a state with a cyber-army, or multiple states with such armies? I'll never know that question, but I know for certain that insincerity was forrcing insecure reactions to comments. And it sucked, especially where innocent beautiful girls were expressing themselves, and where honest admiring girl lovers were trying to express respectful admirations.
You left. I left. I suspect we all left: the ones who were being clean and supportive, no matter our secret wistful desires. Fuck Google and everything they bought. |
