And these days, not exactly a place for it to be appreciated.
I have the fortune to occasionally go to a place with a large portrait of two girls who are clearly from either late 1800's or early 1900's. The younger girl whispers into the older girl's ear. They are fully dressed in the garb of that period, but they feel like girls of today. The portrait is in a place not seen so much, not appreciated much. I suppose there is not a well of history attached to the portrait, but it feels like a rare comparison of girls over a century ago, behaving exactly as any girls would behave today. I wish these two long-passed but lively wonderful cuties were on my wall at home. |
