If my parents were imploring a lifestyle which did not fit with either my felt or natural (or recently learned) self-identity possibillities...

Well, the rejection I'd feel from their lesser-educated pleas might feel like the route to breaking the nonsensical chains they tried to place upon my wrists.

But later, I'd still be feeling rather lost in the ether.

Some parents truly and honestly suck, tho. But probably not most.
