20 years ago today. This post changed my life

Many years ago when I was a young confused teen, wondering if I was a monster, I found this post.

I remember thinking: This man is not a monster. No one who loved a child like this could possibly be a monster. Maybe I could be like this, too?

Two decades is a long time. The world has moved on. GC has gradually become incomprehensible, as many other things have become incomprehensible. Maybe not many people care about this place any more, but I wish to testify: this post changed my life. It turned me away from the dark path of self-hatred that the world pushes upon our kind.

I wonder about the person who posted this. Where are you now? I hope you have been well these many years.
