Didn't one of the financial backers get into trouble for being involved in child trafficking?

I haven't seen it but I've heard it's just another movie exploiting peoples emotions to make money. I've heard it doesn't reflect reality, it's just giving it the Hollywood treatment to make money off the backs of what is a real situation.
