Putin's fault - from the neo-liberal POV - was NOT putting his own interests above the national interest, as they do.

(Compare the dancing queen of Finland, eagerly transforming the nation into a launching pad for missiles against Russia. I'm sure this benefit the Finns greatly, compared to neutrality, peace and prosperity they previously enjoyed)
