Yes, I've seen there are even people who geek out about weapons and will argue to the death over them, and also even specific ammo. It's really not so different from lolicon or its legal version, another thing I know nothing about. The firearm one seems to have a potential use at least. As you probably suspect, my type tends to know almost nothing about guns other than there might be times when the freedom to own them might later become important. And at times, not so long later.
