That's a bit melodramatic. I was a child when I became vegan by my own initiative and I still am. I have hardly withered. I eat the most delicious foods. Wicked Kitchen makes berry white sticks that I highly recommend.

Regardless, it would be nicer if the justification for lab-grown meat (I assume that's what you meant by 'fake meat'?) was to reduce the widespread murder of domestic animals. But no government is going to ever display such an overabundance of empathy; there's no money in that.
