What a sight I saw. A tiny girl walking with her pregnant mom, holding hands. She was so slow, stopping to look closer at every insect and flower, mom slowing each time to allow. Her dress to her ankles. Me, watching from a 3rd story hospital window, her so far away. No silly fantasies, only . . . I don’t know quite what. How to make sense of this?
