"You are a really useful engine!"

If anyone is familiar with Thomas the Tank Engine, you may well share my memories of all the trains hoping to receive the ultimate compliment of "you are a really useful engine!" from The Fat Controller, the highest accolade possible on the Isle of Sodor. It's something that has really stayed with me through to adulthood and the impression I have of my own self-worth has always been inextricably linked with my capacity to be useful.

The internet is not the Isle of Sodor but still in the hope of being a "really useful engine", I've been doing more and more work on my blog, starting with a new post I put up yesterday. It's giving me a real sense of purpose and something I hope to be useful to this community.
