Although I am for intact genitalia myself, the evidence I see around me is that mutilation is going to stay. Even to increase. Sad but that is what is being caused by giving so much power to people from both private enterprise, governments and organizations who are profiting from it; and the enshrinement of cultural relativism making abuse of all sorts respectable in the name of "all practices are equally valid".

There is being a backlash against the surveillance society but they have the better cards with them. Whatever the final outcome, it's going to be messy. Regarding "all that private info is safe" that is stupid. Everything electronic can be hacked. Some things may be harder to hack but all can be hacked.

As for ear piercings I am not fully against them. It is an exaggeration that they are done on infants and girls under a certain age, as it is forced and teaches against consent. But, even though it is mostly due to culture, practically all girls will choose to have their ears pierced anyway. My peeve is why not wait until they ask for it? Being a permanent modification there is no need to bring it forward.

Notice that even where genital mutilation is the norm, when it is done on kids old enough to fight back, they do fight back. They never choose mutilation, unlike they often choose piercings.
