The last news I have watched are that Putin is withdrawing from Kyiv, but not Donbass and the Black Sea. If he really is withdrawing from Kyiv (which I have no way to verify) then maybe his goal in central Ukraine was just to destroy infrastructure, which he did, and cause social disruption, which he did.

I've also read that there are now 4 million refugees. For a country the size of the Ukraine that is a lot. Given that males 18 to 65 are banned from leaving, that means that child refugees will grow fatherless and that the sex balance of the Ukraine will become imbalanced in favor of males and fertility, which was already low, will decline further. If a goal was social disruption, he really knew how to do it.
