Countries accepted very few refugees.

See for instance the boat which tried to reach the USA from Hamburg and was redirected to Cuba. Then returned to Germany. Where I think all the wannabe refugees were killed anyway.

Switzerland was happy to take money from both Jews and Aryan Germans, but not to take the persons in.

Very different to how Nazis after 1945 were welcomed with open arms into the West and Latin America and how the West out of collective guilt created Israel.

At least this mess triggered the independence of the Raj, the Dutch East Indies and the Philippines. The cost to most nations was very high anyway.
