At some stage teenagers think that their parents are just old-fashioned prejudices, as Dostoevsky said. When they get over the puberty, they may appreciate their parents again.
No government is good... it's immature talk, because we need governments anyway. Rebel without a cause, without any good reason... It is good that the teenagers rebel. Rebel without a cause suits a teenager, but is later quite stupid. Rebel with a cause: it is a different thing. Why is it that those who are really individual persons and individual thinkers do not have anything against a reasonable authority? One of my nieces is against most authorities and is intellectually a hen. WHAT fucking individuality have such people to lose? I have myself always rebelled against authorities (and against so-called maturity), but anyway I am mature enough to understand that on a certain social level authorities are necessary. But if you want to be like Timothy McVeigh or Chevie Kehoe and his illiterate redneck yokel hillbilly family, just feel free to do so. |
