I was at the movie theater, standing in line at the concession stand to buy a soda and this girl, she was probably around eight or nine years old and slightly chubby, stands behind me while her mother ran to the restroom. She looks at me and smiles and says, "hi, how are you?"

"I'm good. And you?"

"I'm good. My name is Melinda by the way."

I tell her my name and smile at her. I see her mom coming back from the bathroom. The person in front of me just left and now it was my turn to order.

At least I know I'm not scary looking otherwise a little girl would never try to talk to me. Is this unusual though? Sometimes I feel like little girls are drawn to me. This is the second time in a week that a little girl who I never met before has approached me to say "hi." And sometimes when I see a girl out in public like in a restaurant our eyes lock and I see her smile.

Don't misinterpret this. I'm not saying I think little girls are sexually attracted to me or anything. I'm talking more in terms of a spiritual connection.

And sometimes I feel like the universe is teasing me; like there is something outside of me that knows my secret and is playfully mocking me. Every time I see a little girl smile at me I think of her as the embodiment of this outside power and I hear a voice in my head saying "I know who are" and then giggling laughter.

I know I'm crazy, right?
