I think society always has to have words that the society has deemed improper to use. So while damn to even fuck is almost completely ok to say in any situation. Things like gay, fag, nigger etc. have become not ok to say. Even man and Woman are becoming words not ok to use.

On the race thing the latest one they want us to use are people of melanin. Despite the fact that everyone has at least some melanin. I think the main thing is you must be hip with the latest saying, if you haven't watched CNN for the latest update on what to call everyone, but white people you better watch out as you're a racist.
