Really no better than Taliban blowing up giant statues or modern Marxists doing similar. Italy would be in real trouble with such an ideology, wouldn't it.

Books or statues, both approaches express either lust for control of thought, or else a belief that people are too stupid to reinterpret things down the decades or centuries.

Whichever is true, neither should ever be tolerated. There is never a defense of deleting the human record from human consciousness.

Only utter ignorance or outright Evil intent ever does that. Sometimes the former is just the foot soldier of the latter.
