They do "wear out," but I've read articles where the authors have stress-tested SSDs, and it was an insane number of writes/whatever that it actually took in practice to show a real-world degradation in performance.

So I would not securely wipe files on an SSD, simply because it doesn't actually work, but otherwise wouldn't really worry about it.
