Of looking at that. In some societies, there's no mob to defend yourself against. And they don't have guns. Look at the crime rate in the US compared to other developed nations. A lot of that has to do with inequality, lack of opportunity and access to guns. I respect the 2nd Amendment, but a lot of dangerous people here have access to guns whether via legal or illegal means.
