I read a news story today about the Freedom Hosting guy who got busted in 2013. Unlike that Silk Road drug site dude who got busted via accidentally leaving his own tracks, apparently this guy from Dublin got compromised by some sort of "tool" used by authorities to locate him in spite of him using Tor.

The article mentioned that the legal authorities wouldn't reveal the method in court for a long time, as it was still being used against others. Apparently, according to the article, they eventually made their method public. Unfortunately, the method was not told in the story I read.

Can anyone provide a tech site link to the method they used?
