I tend not to believe allegations when:

● The alleged offender is rich or famous, so there is a discernible material gain for the accuser.

I include in this the Catholic Church allegations. The priests are not rich but the Church is.

● It has been so long that there is no physical evidence anymore.

Either would make me suspicious. Both together make me an atheist.
