It's sad, at one time the US gov actually cared about monopolies, anyway. That seemed to stop with the rise of technology and the internet. But Microsoft isn't a monopoly because grandma can download a GNU/Linux distro and install it on her computer. The next step is the US gov buys Google and makes it even shittier than it already is. They could save a step and just host their servers at the NSA headquarters.
