...are often more tolerant in pedo subjects than the young ones, simply because these old guys (and women) had lived though the decades when pedo hysteria had not begun yet. In those days pedophiles were often benevolently joked about, not fiercely condemned, as they are now.

I know it because I have also lived through those decades.
