The problem is, my actions don't support the brand because I can't tell anybody what the brand is that I represent. The only people that end up representing the brand are the ones that are outed, usually involuntarily, after breaking the law or other social conventions. And so society gets a disproportionately negative view of the brand. The only way we can fix this is if it's possible for those of us who behave to be open about the brand we support. But I see no easy way to make that happen.
