In 1963, Pat Hare, then playing guitar in Muddy Waters' band, killed his girlfriend (he also shot a cop coming to investigate). Ten years earlier, he had recorded a song called "I'm Gonna Murder My Baby" (listen to it on Youtube, it's a great song).

And let us not forget forget the murder of Robert Johnson, the greatest blues singer and guitar player ever.
