Just one contagious Covid case in Haiti, statistically, can kill off 300,000 people in a couple months.
That's based on an 11 million population (2018) and a 3% mortality rate with little or no medical care and no preventative measures taken by the government. As of two days ago, Canada has had 24 deaths attributed to the Covid virus. With a population of 35 million (2017) and very good health care compared to Haiti, this gives Canada a virus mortality rate of about seven ten-thousandths of a percent. If Haiti runs into such a epidemic, I'd gladly sponsor and adopt a 6 year old little girl to come live with me here. :D ![]() |
