The unfulfilled urge for change can be very inspiring for personal creativity, as any excluded group would surely know.

I've never been able to peg myself as either. My views and opinions are all over the map from issue to issue. I've tried hard in life to not only decide for myself what I believe and why, and not care that I don't fit neatly into any political or moral identity, but just as crucially, to give myself the freedom to allow my views to evolve and change over the years without feeling any shame for shifts in beliefs. In fact, I would tend to view anyone who held exactly the same views at 50 or 60 that they had at 20 or 30 with a substantial degree of doubt.

As for the study, of course it's bullshit:) Conservatives view the mental health profession with extreme suspicion and disdain, so of course they seek such help far less frequently. This would also explain why so few blacks even participated, who despite having widespread issues of baseless paranoia within a culture which historically treated them harshly, are just as disinclined to seek psychological help. They, too, do not trust the shrinks.

I guess I just enjoy ribbing Dissy:)

Oh yeah, I've retired from here. Sorry. This post doesn't exist. It's a fig newton of the reader's machinations.
