I don't even know why the Super Bowl has a fancy halftime show with big name singers. Those who watch the whole broadcast for the football don't need the halftime show to watch it. Those who watch the halftime show only or watch the broadcast for the halftime show, will never be football fans and really cheapen the fandom of the people who are football fans. To me it's an unnecessary gimmick.

Yes, I realize that overall this increases the ratings by adding watchers who never watch football other than this one match for this one reason; and that is why they have it. I still think the Super Bowl, any Super Bowl regardless of teams, players, and playing conditions (low or high scoring, close match or easy victory...), would be more memorable if it didn't have that distraction.

(Notice that today a majority of top sports events do something alike, even though the Super Bowl probably goes further than any other. I think essentially the same thing about all of them.)
