Uncomfortable and pissed off

Better to be pissed off than pissed on. (Unless a little cutie is doing it.)

Ever since retirement, I have had trouble sleeping. Well, it wasn't really trouble for me because I was simply comfortable and happy with it all. But sleeping only for 3 hours per 24 hour period wasn't normal. I began tracking when I slept using a sleep/motion sensor on my cellphone. Eventually, I settled into a "20 minute snooze" several times throughout the day, accumulating about 3 or 4 hours total. It did give me lots of time to "live" my life. But I was worried that such lack of biological recovery time would take its toll on me.

I began light exercise until I could get my heart rate up to around 115 to 120 per minute. I kept that up for about 20 to 30 minutes once a day. Eventually, my sleep sessions lengthened to an hour, then to two hours. Today, I'm getting about 2 sets of 3 hours per 24 hour period.

Assuming you don't have sleep apnea, then maybe a stiff run of exercise that gets your heart rate up around 120 for about a half hour might help you re-stablize to a 6 or 8 hour sleep time per day?
