My Chinese wife has been with me for the past... (uh....) ten years (... had to get out the photos to see when...)

When we first met, you could count the English words she knew on one hand. My Chinese was limited to my smile. For those past years, every single day, she would find two words of English that she would pester me all day to listen to (and correct) her pronunciation. Many hours at a time, you could see her laying on the bed peering into her notebook, yammering (in English) to herself. Plus, you could see her listening every day to some Chinese teacher with a YouTube video teaching people how to improperly pronounce English. (It's "THank you", not "Sank you".)

But, when it comes to arguing a traffic ticket in court, I have to be there to make (and win) the case. When it comes to yelling at me for not wearing clothing that matches, it comes out in rapid fire Mandarin.

And my Chinese? Well, I can say, "I love you", "yes", "no", and "Honestly, I was just looking at Her. She didn't even know I was following Her."
