Thing is all cops think all of us are equally bad. Yet she was a cop who thought that there were bad ones worth her time and not so bad ones not worth her time.

It's an enigma. How could both be true?

That was true once... but not anymore. It really depends on the individual who will believe what we say after spending so much time reading us. To most honest, trusting, empathic, intelligent people who recognize that (at least) it's not a choice to be attracted to minors - which is nowadays a well-documented and published statement of fact - our written presence suggests that indeed there is nothing noteworthy that warrants our persecution from the rest of humanity, that most of us, more or less but most, are human beings trying to do the right things with the hands we've been given, and that we perhaps ought to be shown appreciation in some way for our good qualities, both in general and in our impacts on children (the latter, as it goes for those of us who work with kids and youth either under or above ground and or regularly and openly socialize with them, and especially those of us who can be allo-parents or guardians or fall into really close friendships).

I should think it's common for people to spend a lot of time studying us in earnest anticipation of catching predators only to eventually see that the bulk of us aren't really who they were looking for.
