The messages I get concerning my oddly-combined science fiction stories and MAP activism range from those who supposedly want to sleep with me (not often enough) to those who definitely want to murder me (far too often). The ones that matter most, however, are like this. It's from a 15-year-old girl:

"I can definitely relate to the arguments you made, on a personal level you are spot on in what you said about prime breeding age in your SEX AND CANDY story. I can tell you from my own experience, physically, when I turned 13 something definitely changed in me and I wanted to be pregnant and have a baby more than anything else, and I still do. Whats frustrating is that I have to suppress those urges and desires because it is not socially acceptable... even though my mind and body are telling me its what I need to do.

On the second point you made, I actually starting crying because I agree so much. My boyfriend (who I love and adore) is 4 years older than me. We started dating last year, I was a freshman and he was a senior, so really nothing wrong with that. Now he's in college, and we're still together, and our relationship is stronger than ever (I truly believe this is the man I will marry), but my parents absolutely hate the fact that I'm with him, even though he is an amazing, responsible, smart guy. The only reason they dislike him is because of his age and our age difference... again because society says its weird. Whats worse is that because we are intimate with each other I'm constantly terrified that'll he'll get into trouble or go to jail just because he loves me... its so frustrating.

So yeah... all of that to say that I really appreciate what you've written, and its very well done. "
