While Markaba's tale, once posted at Salon.com, was filled with slurs about us, it does describe someone who was willing to conform to "community expectations" in order to feel validated.

Long before Ethan, Markaba oscillated between an imagined GC "groupthink" and an imagined Anti groupthink.

As to this supposed GC "groupthink," when I got here the debates between Lux and Hen-Wen made for looooong threads. Kahuna seemed to argue with all the non-parents. &tc.

But its not just us.

As soon as he encountered the DU forum, he adopted its founder's philosophical views without a solid background in the history of the open debate among philosophers.

He seems inclined to prefer to live in a world where all debates have been settled; and there are only the intellectually honest and scoundrels who know that they're wrong but just won't admit it.

He was ready for a VP long before Ethan thought of it. It merely took Ethan parsing the hatred and slandering of the pro-choice Pedo away from the Chris Hanson wannabes who had hounded Marky for him to sign on.

Don't give Ethan the credit.
