As much as I love the Scout movement, I also criticize various of it's aspects for demanding allegiance and obligatory being religious, at least when I was around. However, the reason I mention those aspects is because Scouting is pretty much inherently traditionalist and tend to attach themselves to rather conservative views, despite also encouraging and showing that the youth are capable of anything if you just bothered to show them it's positive attributes instead of keeping them from experiences that are not necessarily harmful to them, plus also respecting the will of them doing these activities while also encouraging self-dependence on their behalf.
Having said that, I don't see how Scouting, as a fundamentally conservative movement, will be endangered by such a character? ... Oh, wait. I just understood what you actually meant, but I'm going to post it anyways, you can either choose to ignore my rambling or to add to it, I just love Scouting in general. <3 ![]() |
