It's research.net, not b4uact (with or without a certificate), that he's concerned about. There's no reason I know of for research.net to require javascript be enabled in order to take the survey, and plenty of reason to be leery of sites that require it, especially survey and 'research' sites, and especially for surveys directed at this community.
