I frequently find myself frustrated by the limitations of communicating via the internet; I need the full sensory input of "meatspace" interactions to feel like I really have gotten to know someone, and that's not something to be had from cyberspace-only communication.

As you mentioned, there are life-long friendships that can come out of casual meetings of like-minded folks, especially if those are regularly-held outings! I know I'm fortunate to have a small handful of people in my life who know about my love of girls, including one dear friend who is (like me) a non-exclusive minor-attracted woman. But to have a group of people to hang out with, just having fun, in the park or at the beach or whatever... that sounds absolutely beautiful.
