I agree that people should be careful how they respond.
I don't want to encourage such behaviour, indeed that's why I've stated my position that we should always operate within the law and the wishes of society.

My question is more whether you feel it would be appropriate, an attempt to get people to think about the "would I have the same view if it was my daughter" perspective. People often have different views of things when it's their own family so I thought it might be an interesting question to ask.
