That was fine for me then, when it really was just about me. Now that it is also about the girls in my life, I walk armed. Rationally I really, really do not want to ever have to use a weapon. The renegade in me, however, is just craving to teach a lesson.

What do you want? I am descended from pirates, whalers, raiders, nomads, mercenaries, people who fled dictatorships for political reasons, and people who were on the brink of becoming guerrillas themselves. I know how to tattoo with a piece of broken glass. I know peace is the best strategy and love the greatest victory, but I also know that if I want peace I must prepare for war. I regret it, but I will face it gracefully.
