Some very interesting background material.

I expect that humans will shortly collectively gain far more power than our minds can presently comprehend, and that much of this power will be capable of being wielded by individuals. It seems quite obvious to me that steps will be taken to ensure that people who cannot play nicely with others will be prevented from having access to such power. Even if terrible actions can be undone by others, who wants to deal with doing so more often than is absolutely necessary?
