This has come up a few times now, so I'll address it:

You are the one saying we are dangerously out of touch and cynically motivated by lust.

There is a distinction to be drawn between what I believe and what I think that most of society believes. In a discussion that involves political strategy, it seems fair to give an opinion about what other people believe that you don't believe yourself. It even makes sense to state it in emotional terms, to get into the mindset of the people who believe it, to weigh how you're coming across to them.

My beliefs are somewhat more in that direction than yours, so maybe it takes a little work to see the difference -- but there is a big difference.

As for the rest, I guess it's old ground. I do not see you as my enemy.
