I don't even think they need to be working together; just so long as nobody is denouncing the other.

Not only would the appearance of collusion be counterproductive, but the fact of collusion ( were it to exist ) would be a diversion of energies best used elsewhere.

I don't think that the radical and the moderate should be asked to work out a strategy in tandem. Just so long as they aren't aiming at each other.
