The rights of a child depend on respecting their ability to say "no" as well as "yes." If there's only one "valid" answer, then consent doesn't exist. And it really doesn't matter what you believe her to be a symbol of. There is no shame in calling others to account for violating your rights, if that's what actually happened. As for Dakota and Jodie, they are on the record about their feelings. There is no shame here. People have the right to consent to what they will, refuse to participate in what they won't, and fight for their rights when their consent was wrongfully denied or wrongfully coerced.
